Gift Recipients

    • To be eligible to create a Gift Recipient profile you must:

    • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Be age 18 or older

    • Be a resident of the U.S.

    • Be Black or African American

    • Have a net worth less than the median net worth of a White family in the U.S., which is $187,300

    • Not be related to a Jubilant Money employee

    • Be actively working to accomplish your financial goals

  • Creating a profile is completely free. To keep their profile active we will regularly ask Gift Recipients for updates on their financial progress.

  • No, however you will receive free asynchronous financial coaching as well as other culturally relevant personal finance resources as long as you maintain a profile on the Jubilant Money Platform. The Jubilant Money team will also monitor profiles that have fewer gift exchanges and will work to direct resources from the Jubilant Fund to support these Gift Recipients in reaching their financial goals.

  • All Gift Recipients will be given free access to asynchronous text messaging-based financial coaching to help them set and achieve their financial goals. This is a beta version, so please feel free to share feedback and you go through the sessions.

Gift Givers

  • Yes, all gifts are given and received with absolute anonymity. Jubilant Money maintains complete records of all gift exchanges for tax purposes but does not share this information publicly.

  • All gifts given through the Jubilant Money platform are paid directly to the lenders, whether you give to a specific Gift Recipient or to the Jubilant Fund. No funds are paid directly to the Gift Recipient.

  • Creating a profile is completely free, with a small fee applied to donations for platform maintenance.

  • No - similar to a contribution to crowdfunding campaigns on platforms like GoFundMe and Kickstarter, your gift through Jubilant Money is not tax deductible because we are a for-profit social enterprise.
